2020-2023
Between 2020 and 2023 my creative focus was on contemporary, queer, social realism. Many of my paintings from this period explore the relationship between people and community spaces by using relating to kitchen sink realism. In 2021 I started my practice based PhD research into socio-spatial relationships, using my social realist interest as a springboard into considering materiality and geography within 21st figurative paintings that consider British identity, class, and queerness.

Residency at Can Serrat
As a result of my residency at Can Serrat, 2023, I produced a series of paintings on materials found within the grounds as well as a short publication that contrasts my experiences of Catalonia with my background in Plymouth. Click on the image for more information about my residency at Can Serrat.
